A.1. There are 7 parts. Cell wall, cell membrane, cytoplasm, nucleus, vacuole,chromosomes,chloroplasts.

A.2. Meniscus is the surface of a liquid that curves at the sides of a measuring instrument.

Q.3. Explain the term density.
A.3. Density is the mass per unit volume of a substance.

Q.4. What is meant by solute?
A.4. Solute is the substance that dissolves in a solvent.

Q.5. State one characteristic of a solution.
A.5. A solution is homogeneous.

Q.6. Elements are divided into two broad categories. What are the two categories?
A.6. Metals and non-metals.

Q.7. Animals are divided into two broad categories. What are the two categories?
A.7. Vertebrates and non-vertebrates.

Q.8. What is work done?
A.8. Work done is the product of the force applied and the distance moved in the direction of the force applied.
