Definitions:
Solute-Substance that dissolves in a solvent.

Solvent-Substance that dissolves the solute.

Solution-Mixture of solute and solvent.

Properties of Solutions:
1)Homogenous.
2)When left to stand,solute will not separate from solvent.The solution will remain as one.
3)When filtered,no residue is obtained.

Suspension-Mixture in which insoluble particles are suspended in a liquid or gas.

Properties of Suspensions:
1)Non-homogenous.
2)When left to stand,insoluble particles will settle to the bottom.
3)When filtered,residue is obtained.
