Hi there,
Below are some Mathematics Problem Sums.The solutions for these sums will be posted below as well.
Questions:

1. Leon was given $100 for his weekly allowance.He spent 1/2 of it on meals,1/4 of it on books and 1/5 of it on recreation. How much could he save a week?

2. Daveen bought some computer accessories.He spent $150 on a hard drive, $95 on a thumbdrive, $19 on a mouse and $225 on a pair of speakers. How much money did he spend in total on the computer accessories?

3. There are 15 girls and 25 boys in class 1/A2. If there are 3 Malay girls,12 Chinese girls,15 Malay boys and 10 Chinese boys,express,

* (a) the number of girls to the number of boys in class 1/A2,
* (b) the number of boys as a ratio of the total number of students in class 1/A2 and
* (c) the number of Malay students as a ratio of the number of Chinese students in class 1/A2.

Solutions:

1.
* 1/2 x $100= $50(meals)
* 1/4 x $100= $25(books)
* 1/5 x $100= $20(recreation)
* $50 + $25 + $20=$95
* Amount saved:$100 - $95=$5

2.
* H.d=$150
* T.d=$95
* M.=$19
* P.of.S=$225
* Total amount spent=$150 + $95 + $19 + $225=$489

3.
* (a) Girls : Boys= 15:25=3:5
* (b) Boys:Total Students=25:(15 + 25)=25:40=5:8
* (c) Malay Students:Chinese Students=(15 + 3):(12 + 10)=18:22=9:11
